We're so proud of our multi award-winning podcast The Long Haul. It won Best Sports Podcast at the Australian Podcast Awards and also won Silver at the Signal Awards in New York, alongside winning the audience vote!​

Liz Keen

Executive Producer Audio

With over 20 years' experience working with ABC radio on programs like Four Corners and Background Briefing, Liz has in-depth knowledge of audio production. Liz joined Headline in 2020, and she produced our multi award-winning podcast 'The Long Haul', seasons 2 & 3 of 'We Are Lonely' for Medibank and 'After The Disaster' for The Red Cross and The University of Melbourne. She is also working with the Global Institute of Women's Leadership on Julia Gillard's 'A Podcast of One's Own.

Simon Portus

Creative Director

Simon is a multi award-winning filmmaker and podcast producer with a passion for story structure and design. He started Headline Productions in 2010 and has since produced and directed the television series Wild Kitchen for ABC TV and worked with clients like Destination NSW, National Parks & Wildlife and The United Nations Development Program. In 2021 he produced the award winning podcast The Long Haul and in 2023 and 2024 he produced audio and video content for seasons 2 and 3 of the We Are Lonely podcast with Medibank.

Katerina

Skoumbas

Producer

Katerina has 24 years experience in creative project management. She has worked on cultural programming, marketing strategy, audience development, community engagement, sponsorship, production and broadcasting.  She has produced the award-winning podcast Makers x Traders Audio Trail, Whale Chorus Theatre's Voices of Joan 2023 season and consulted on New Annual's Global Gathering event in Sept 2023.

Cara O'Brien

Producer

After working for BBC in London for over 15 years, Cara moved to Australia and has worked as an independent podcast producer on series that include: An Audible Original, 'Make Anxiety Your Superpower, with Sarah Wilson', BBC Radio 2's 'Friends Will Be Friends' and 'Forbidden History' which was translated into seven other languages.

We acknowledge the Gumbaynggirr people as the Traditional Custodians of the Country we work in.

We recognise their continuing connection to the land and waters, and thank them for protecting this coastline

and its ecosystems since time immemorial. We pay our respects to Elders past and present,

and extend that respect to all First Nations people.
